*Reader Filter* is an extension for Google's Chrome browser that lets you
filter and hide RSS news items in Google Reader. Google Reader is a fantastic
way to organize and browse your RSS feeds. When you're dealing with tens of
folders and possibly hundreds of feeds though, things can get overwhelming
really fast. Reader Filter cuts through the noise of news stories you don't
want to have to browse through and Google Reader features you might not even
want to make use of. Just input the name or phrase that you want to block and
Reader Filter will omit any items that include those names. On rare occasion,
this filter doesn't block all chosen content, but generally Reader Filter got
the job done really well. What's really great about Reader Filter is it seems
to have *countless different methods for filtering out items* you don't want
cluttering up your feed. You can filter based on text found either in the
item's body or subject line only, and choose whether you want it to be case
sensitive or not. Plus, if there's a feed you absolutely don't want anything
filtered from, you can add the entire feed to an exempt list. Reader Filter
also offers numerous *layout tweaks*. You can hide a variety of things within
