*Risen 2: Dark waters* is an action role playing game with a pirates theme.
Set some time after the events of the first game, your hero is disillusioned
and cynical, yet finds himself charged with finding a way to stop ancient sea
monsters who threaten the world. The Pirate theme is new for Risen 2, a
sequel to the more traditional fantasy original. We've seen two
demonstrations of the 3rd person action and it seems like the pirate
atmosphere has been well captured. The original was pretty flawed, but Risen
2's developers have stressed how much they are working to make sure this
sequel is better. In the crowded world of role playing games, Risen 2: Dark
Waters stands out for it's pirate theme more than anything else. We'll have
to wait and see if the gameplay and story are compelling enough to make this
