If you find yourself being distracted while working online, try downloading
*StayFocusd*, a Chrome extension that will limit the time you spend surfing
websites that don't help you get the job done. StayFocusd simply works by
allowing you to *set a limit to the time you spend on certain sites* or
sub-domains. You can do this quickly by clicking on the StayFocusd icon that
is installed on the browser, or enter the Options area to specify more
advanced limitations. Once you have chosen the area you want to block,
StayFocusd will count down the time you have left to browse it. Of course,
you can set *different limitations for different sites*, and leave certain
paths untouched so, for instance, you can block Google Reader, but not Gmail.
StayFocusd also has a number of other options that make the whole extension a
lot of fun. The *Nuclear Option* unconditionally blocks all of websites
except ones that are on your allowed list, or even the entire internet. If
you're feeling really masochistic, you can activate *Require Challenge*,
which will require you to carry out a little challenge before allowing you to
modify the settings. StayFocusd is an excellent way to make you more
productive - but just be careful of the super-strict settings!Download
