*Throttle* is an extremely simple program - a single interface, no
configuration options - to make your computer and modem function *as quickly
as they can*. Once you open Throttle, it will ask for two facts - what
operating system you are using, and what kind of modem connection you have.
Once you chose from the dropdown menu, press *GO* and that's pretty much it.
There's also a *Speed Setting* area, but you won't be able to change this in
the trial version. Once you've let Throttle do its work, you'll have to
restart to see the benefits. In tests we could see an improvement, especially
opening folders and files. If you're interested in the mechanics of the
program - how exactly it makes things faster - you'll have to look in the
Throttle help section, which explains the process. As is usual with
optimization programs, whether or not they do any good depends on your
computer and the user's perception. Seeing as how Throttle is easy on
resources, simple to use and fast, however, there's probably *no reason not
