*Tuxler* is a simple app that installs independently of your browser and
allows you to change your IP address to that of another country instantly.
Tuxler is designed for those that want to protect their privacy although it
can be used to access sites that are blocked in your country. Tuxler
initially runs an installer which takes quite a while to complete. However,
once installed, it adds a shortcut to your desktop and appears in your Dock.
Once running, it displays your current IP address and compiles a list of
proxies in other countries that that you can switch to at any time by
clicking the big "Switch IP" switch in the top right corner. So far so good
except that many of the proxies in Tuxler don't work or are only available if
you upgrade. And even if you manage to connect to one, you're limited to 10MB
of data transfer which means watching something like the BBC iPlayer outside
of the UK, or Hulu outside of the USA is virtually impossible with Tuxler.
However, if you just want to use the free version of Tuxler to protect your
identity, it's sufficient. We tested proxies in both the Netherlands and
Saudi Arabia and the Google homepage was changed accordingly when we reloaded
so it does work. Note that as with all proxies, surfing can be painfully slow
at times. *Tuxler works with any browser although the lack of working proxies
and 10 MB limit in the free version, mean it can be a bit

Maxthon Classic 3.4.5.2000-Powerful alternative browsing experience

Whenever I review a browser I have to take a deep breath and put my
prejudices firmly to one side. I'm a Firefox fan, and generally feel
(tongue-in-cheek!) pity for people who use other browsers. I'm especially
suspicious of Internet Explorer, which is why when Maxthon landed on my
screen for review, well let's just say I wasn't hopeful. In fact, it's just
as well that I decided to be objective, because Maxthon really surprised me.
If you are a person who likes lots of options, you should really check
Maxthon out - the IE-based browser has more buttons, menus and configurations
options than Photoshop, and you can really customize it to the max. All
aspects of the browser can be re-sized, moved or taken away and there are
multiple skins, interface styles, and language options. Maxthon generally
opens its configuration options in new tabs, rather than windows. This means
they are easy to see and modify, which is just as well, as there are so many
of them. These options Maxthon gives you, including the standard File, View,
and Tools types, can be found in the Menu Bar, while there are even more in
the lower Status bar. If things are beginning to sound a bit crowded, you can
disable most, leaving the whole interface much cleaner. It would take a very
long time to detail all of Maxthon's options, so suffice to say that as well
as the standard ones (tab behavior, display, encoding), there are a multitude
of other features, from content control to image and script disabling, an
in-built ad-blocker, auto form-filler and advanced screenshot function. In
fact, some of the options are quite complex, and you might want to take a
look at the user manual before jumping straight in. If you like a simple
browsing experience, or are a big fan of your Firefox add-ons, Maxthon
probably isn't for you (although there is a good selection of Maxthon
add-ons). If you are an Internet Explorer user who wants more options,
however, or are just interested in life beyond Mozilla, give Maxthon a try.

Medal of Honor Warfighter-The cost of war beyond fighting

*Medal of Honor Warfighter* is a first person shooter and sequel to the Medal
of Honor reboot, which was released in 2010. *Story* As a direct sequel,
there is not much recap of what happened in the first game when you start
Medal of Honor Warfighter. That makes it a little difficult to understand the
soldiers and their call signs used in the game. The story of Medal of Honor
Warfighter is a mixture of flashbacks of previous and current missions that
the Tier 1 Special Forces operatives experience while trying to stop
terrorist attacks on the United States. A secondary plot details the effects
on the families of these soldiers, as they struggle being absent from their
families' lives. You will spend a majority of your time playing as two
operatives named Preacher and Stump. You are tasked with locating
people-of-interest and finding weapons that are going to be used for domestic
attacks on the United States. The missions all involve the *tried-and-true
FPS* method of moving from point to point, defeating all the enemies, and
moving on until the end of levels. Medal of Honor Warfighter does add a
couple *driving missions* that break up the shooting gameplay . While the
missions are loosely connected, the narrative in Medal of Honor Warfighter
moves at a breakneck pace and there are few moments to register exactly what
you are doing in a specific mission. For those who are only aware of the
military through FPS games, *Medal of Honor Warfighter's story can feel
very simple, but it speaks volumes to people who have friends and family in
the military*. *Graphics* Using the *Frostbite 2 engine*, which originally
debuted in Battlefield 3, Medal of Honor Warfighter looks impressive.
Developers Danger Close tweaked the engine a bit and it looks more realistic
and detailed. In most missions, there is a lot going on during firefights and
the variety of environments is impressive. Weather and lighting details stick
out along with the character models for the primary characters. The different
operators all have distinctive looks that are established during the rendered
cut scenes. The quality during the scenes is amazing and are very lifelike.
When playing, you are going to notice a lot of *detail on the different
weapons* that you use and uniforms that the main characters wear.
Unfortunately this does not translate to the other enemy fodder that you
fight most of the time. They all have a very similar appearance and most of
the time their faces are covered with masks. Frostbite 2 is an impressive
graphics engine and it really shows when playing Medal of Honor Warfighter.
*Gameplay* Since Medal of Honor Warfighter is broken up into various
missions, you are normally going to be moving linearly through a level to
accomplish various tasks. There is not a lot of variety in exactly what you
are going regardless of the actual mission. The driving missions are
different and fun, but can be difficult for players who are not used to
driving from a first-person perspective. Using standard FPS controls, you
have two default weapons, but are able to pick up dropped weapons from
enemies. This is a nice touch as they do not replace any of your default
weapons so you just throw them away after using them. Medal of Honor
Warfighter includes an interesting *door breaching* mechanic that is used a
lot throughout the game. There is a small leveling mechanic where you can
unlock new breaching methods to use during the game. It does not change how
the gameplay works, but adds a little bit of variety. The combat gameplay is
not anything vastly different from other FPS games, but the inclusion of
multiple scopes on a single weapon used by Special Forces is interesting. The
focus on authenticity is seen through the game with the weapons and gear that
the team uses. Medal of Honor Warfighter, at its core, is a FPS game and does
not try to interpret the action in the game as reality, but the experience is
still intense and impressive. *Sound* If you've ever wondered what specific
weapons sound like, Medal of Honor Warfighter will teach you. A wide range of
weapons are reproduced and ambient effects like sniper fire and explosions
are huge. Medal of Honor Warfighter is a mixture of an action movie and gun
range when it comes to its sound. *Voice acting is also among the best* for a
FPS game. The main cast from the 2010 Medal of Honor return to voice their
character, which helps to give convincing lines of dialogue. When you are on
missions, you are able to hear your partner through an in-ear radio. Medal of
Honor Warfighter's sound is some of the strongest for an action FPS game
and it will be interesting to see what other games will do to best it.
*Multiplayer* Medal of Honor Warfighter's multiplayer features Tier 1 Special
Forces from around the world, where players can choose and play as an
operator from another country. Instead of a good vs evil match, Medal of
Honor Warfighter consists of *operators fighting in fireteams of two*. The
fireteam mechanic is excellent. Having a partner that can heal, resupply, and
act as a roaming spawn point is a lot of fun. *Experience points can be
shared* between both players when they work together and adds another level
of collective combat. Medal of Honor Warfighter's various modes are
standard for FPS multiplayer modes, but given different names. 'Team
deathmatch' and 'capture the point' were the modes I played the most with a
partner who was a much higher level. Working together, it is possible to
survive much longer than running around as a lone wolf. Earning XP will
unlock new character classes and weapon modifications. This adds another
level of planning with your partner because you can strategize how to
accomplish tasks. All your multiplayer data is stored in Medal of Honor
Warfighter's Battlelog containing all your stats like kill-to-death ratio,
accuracy, unlocks, and other specific information. Medal of Honor
Warfighter's multiplayer is not the run-and-gun of other FPS games, but
requires more teamwork. In comparison to other games, Medal of Honor
Warfighter is more deliberate and offers a tactical approach not seen as much
in other games. *Is it worth buying?* If you are looking for a more reverent
take on a FPS game, then yes. When compared to the numerous other FPS games,
Medal of Honor Warfighter is different because it approaches war from a
different angle. It *strives for authenticity while fighting to still be an
entertainment product*. The story may feel bland and repetitive, but
honestly, it speaks to a different crowd than the action movie FPS fan. Even
though the narrative in Medal of Honor Warfighter can been seen as derivative
because it strings a story through different events, it actually *feels more
realistic* than other "one-man army" FPS games. The single player
campaign is a little short, but full of intense moments that can be construed
as repetitive, but the FPS genre is still presenting the same core gameplay
with different bells and whistles. The teamwork-focused multiplayer is one of
the first that I actually feel like playing long after I am done with the
single player mode. *Medal of Honor Warfighter may not be the next big
blockbuster FPS game, but it presents secondary subject matter not often
discussed while still presenting a solid single and multiplayer

Tower defense games have been done to death, but *PopCap* has breathed life
into a often dull genre with *Plants vs Zombies*. Utilizing your gardening
skills, with the occasional help of Crazy Dave, you have to harvest sunlight
to grow an army of plants to destroy the hordes of approaching zombies. Each
Plants vs Zombies round starts with a clear lawn, and you have to build up
your defenses, usually starting with sun producing sunflowers, then
peashooters, and so on. As you progress through Plants vs Zombies you are
given a larger armory including mines, bombs and more. While your
capabilities improve, so do the zombies - you'll meet a range of zombies
which require different tactics to be destroyed. The 60 minute demo gives you
a great introduction to this really well balanced game. The attacking zombies
are paced just right, so you're always under pressure to keep planting, while
you have to do pretty badly to get overrun and lose. The graphics are
cheerful and detailed, while the sound features some amusing effects that
never get irritating. the main game is broken up with mini-games, like
bowling, which help to keep it feeling fresh. The mixture of real time
strategy and cartoon zombies is pretty irresistible, and it's hard to imagine
someone not enjoying Plants vs Zombies *Plants vs Zombies is cheerful, fun,

You'll find it on the bottom right of the interface. The good thing about Mac
Cleanse though is that it lets you select and clean multiple applications
quickly and safely, saving you lots of time. Despite the slightly
counterintuitive interface, Mac Cleanse is efficient at cleaning up multiple

with the new platform. It contains everything you need to start building
applications, as well as a fully functional device emulator for testing them

There is a choice of phone skins and resolutions to tinker with too. After
fiddling around for a bit with the OS I must say I'm pretty impressed. Its

web-based software. Installing software onto the emulator isn't easy and you

first person gameplay is pretty simple; your tasks in the game are nothing
new. But throughout the experience, the atmosphere is chilling, and the
shocks keep coming. I found the movement was a little too fast to be
convincing, but there's a great blur effect when you run, which gives the
game a great sense of panic. And the chances are that you will be panicking
when you run! *It might not have the big budget of Dead Space, or the creepy
legend of Slender, but Erie is still a great looking and scary game, and

wizard-driven set-up tool, which can be tailored for experts or non-experts.
The software is very flexible and gives you a lot of control over rules, so
you dictate access permissions in a very precise manner. The Parental
Controls app also works around rules. You can customize filters that will
prevent people of a certain age from accessing pornography, violent content
and other dubious material online. Again, this is really easy to hook up,
thanks to the wizard system. Norman Security Suite offers an easy way to
protect your computer from some of the hazards of having an internet

developers, there are 600,000 laptops stolen every year in the USA alone and
about 97% of these are never recovered. However, Undercover offers an extra
way to recover your Mac if the worst happens. It makes ingenious use of your
Wifi enabling the developer security centre to locate your Mac within a range
of 10-20 metres. It also makes ingenious use of your iSight - it takes
pictures every 6 minutes of whoever is in front of your Mac and transmits
them to the security center so your thief will be completely exposed!
Undercover doesn't stop there however. If for any reason your Mac can't be
recovered, it reverts to "Plan B" which is basically to make your Mac
unusable by completely dimming the screen. If the Mac is returned to a shop
or Mac dealer for repair, Undercover even detects this and alerts the seller
by both text and audio message that the Mac has been stolen. There's no
interface as such to speak-of. When you install it, you're given an
Undercover ID that's unique for the Mac you've installed it on. When your Mac
is online, Undercover routinely checks whether the Mac is reported as stolen.
This is a bit concerning in terms of privacy but the developer's assure that
Undercover will not send any identifying information from your Mac to it's
server. Of course, the whole service comes at something of a cost although
there are differing rates depending on whether you are s student, business

only hope of ever recovering your Mac if it's stolen. If you don't want to

beautiful. Even though graphics are 2D, there is a sense of depth as it
combines some 3D elements into the environment. The level of detail in the
backgrounds, environment, and character animation all help to make the world
of Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken feel lived in. To help set the tone of
Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken, art, soundtrack, and hilarious writing work
together. There is a surprising amount of back story of our protagonist told
to us with cut scenes. One of the best parts of Rocketbirds: Hardboiled
Chicken is the hilarious script. For example, when you take over an enemy's
body with a mind control bug, he'll say, "I gotta take a huge dump" and will
let out a squeaky fart. Sure, it's a little immature but hilarious
nonetheless. The soundtrack is awesome and there are creepy sounds of torture
that really set the dark mood in Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken. *Gameplay*
While you can play Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken with a mouse and keyboard,
using an *gamepad is definitely the way to go*. Controls are logical and make
learning them a quick affair. Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken features
different weapons that you can acquire throughout the game. One weapon of
note is the mind control bug which allows you to infect enemies and gives you
control of their bodies. This brings in an interesting puzzle solving element
to the game. Speaking of puzzles, Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken is full of
them. Most of your time will be spent trying to make your way through a
level. You have to kill certain enemies that drop color coded access cards to
get to different parts of the level. *The game is very linear but the puzzles
are challenging*. Be prepared to backtrack quite often to solve these
puzzles. In addition to puzzles, Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken features
action-platformer shooting and a unique cover system. You can duck into the
shadows or shallow areas to avoid gunfire. Gunplay in Rocketbirds: Hardboiled
Chicken is also very satisfying as it *rewards stealth and rhythm*. Players
can juggle enemies by timing their bursts of fire, making sure enemies are
incapacitated. Combat is simple and challenging when you have to battle a
swarm of enemies by yourself. Each gun has specific properties but you can
get through the entire game with just one gun. Occasionally there will be
more challenging enemies who don riot shields and batons who will be
impervious to your bullets from the from. You'll have to sneak around them to
blast them from the back. Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken breaks up the
monotony of puzzles and gunplay by having *jetpack dogfights* in between
chapters. Strap on your jetpack and battle penguins in jets and helicopters
with heat-seeking missiles. Refill your health an ammo with the items that
dead enemies drop. *Co-op* There is a co-operative campaign that you can play
and it's solid. Play with your buddies as different birds who have different
weapons. *Each weapon feels weighty and provides a different style of
gameplay*. You'll need to ride on each others' backs to solve puzzles, which
can lead to some hilarious disagreements about who gets to be on top.
Although the levels in the co-op campaign are the same in the single-player,
*there are different puzzle solving elements*. You'll need to work together
and have one player hold a button to unlock part of the level while another
goes to retrieve an item in that area. Players will have work together to
find ways through less obvious levels. The co-op campaign could use some more
variation in gameplay like the jetpack levels and the mind control bug but is
solid overall. *Wrap-up* Ratloop Asia has created a wonderfully fun and funny
game with Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken. *Although Rocketbirds: Hardboiled
Chicken is a pretty standard action-platformer, the combination of beautiful

can be a hassle. Some programs alert you to new updates, but wouldn't it be
better to have a single program that keeps an eye on all your software? This
is where Softonic comes into play. Softonic keeps a master list of
applications and will query Softonic's database for updates, alerting you
*when an update for a program is available*, quickly and unobtrusively in the
notification tray. Click the 'update' button and the .exe will be downloaded
and you can install it like a normal application. Softonic doesn't support
uninstalling yet. Softonic's new application also includes *full reviews* of
applications to help you decide whether an app is right for you. Access user
reviews, screenshots, and videos, all within Softonic. Screenshots and videos
show up beautifully, though there is some noticeable lag while switching
pictures. Another nice feature of the application is *lists*. You can browse
premade lists from Softonic's editors or you can make your own app lists and
share them. Drag and drop applications into a list to keep track of them.
These lists are synced when you log into Softonic, making it super easy to
download your favorite apps on a new machine. There are still a few features
that aren't fleshed out but the program is solid overall. It would be nice to
be able to uninstall apps and there should be a setting to automatically
delete the .exe files after installation. There's also no way to change your
avatar within Softonic. Overall, this new application from Softonic is a
solid product that provides some very useful features. Softonic lets you keep

times. At other times it seems oversensitive and just looking it can suddenly
set-off iTunes. At the moment, Flutter only supports iTunes, Spotify, VLC

Flutter, it is just about passable as a way of switching between tracks by
waving your hand left or right. There's no way to control the volume though

preferences, crash reports, and many other application-specific files that
get left behind. To prevent any problems afterwards, Amnesia also comes with
a backup feature which allows you to roll back any changes that have been
made in error. There's also an 'Untouchable' feature, which prevents the
removal of key programs. This means that Amnesia will warn you if someone
tries to remove an essential program or if you should accidentally do so
yourself. Amnesia works via its own interface a bit like AppCleaner meaning
you have to remove program using Amnesia as oppose to dragging them to the
trash and Amnesia then stepping in to remove the rest. It's a little annoying
to have to go down this road but the advantage is that once you've opened
Amnesia, it provides handy buttons to install Preferences Panes, Applications
